I'm Not A Baker But I Play One On TV...
Hello Bakery Fans - The Rebel Baker apologizes for leaving you hanging with no blog post for two weeks but we have been
BUSY! We'll get to the update for the Election Night "You Decide - Just Desserts 2008" celebration in
a minute, but we have some exciting news to share on two fronts.
We have been invited to be on a cooking segment
of the nationally broadcast TV talk show "Everyday with Marcus and Lisa" on the Family Channel and also USA Networks
on December 8th. That's right, we are gonna' be on TV...Live. Yikes! Let's hope we don't screw this up or
worse, Dan making some lame joke where nobody laughs and there is just crickets. (Poor Dan) We will be in the kitchen
with Marcus and Lisa making "Red State Red Velvet Poundcake with Cream Cheese Frosting." (Savvy Forsythians will
have their pen and notebook handy - but hopefully you will still let me make it for you.) We are pretty geeked up about this
and will share more detail as time draws closer.
We also learned yesterday that we are the featured "Hole
in Wall" local hot spot for About U magazine this December. Like many of you, I get this local magazine to my home and
use it as a guide for local businesses that I need. The writer and her family stopped in for doughnuts and goodies and gave
us the good news. So Forsyth County, what do you think about that?
The colder weather is here and the leaves are
getting beautiful, stop by for some warm yummies on your way to leaf watching! Speaking of cold, better bundle up the
kiddies this Friday for Halloween. The Rebel Baker will be taking "Maverick & Goose" out Friday night as well.
One of my children will be a Star Wars character and the other one is a "Rock Star Pirate." (Don't
ask, I have no idea what this is either.) Lastly, WE WILL BE OPEN Election Night, November 4th for
YOU DECIDE - JUST DESSERTS 2008. We are already getting confirmations from several of you that you will be
here parked in front of the TV's helping us celebrate or throw tomatoes. Love the candidates or hate them, nothing
soothes concern and fear more than a decadent chocolate cake or incredible Pecan Pie...we promise.
Have a great
week...

I'm the Rebel Baker And I Approved This Message
Hello Bakery Fans - Well the election is finally coming down the wire and we are pleased to announce that WE WILL BE OPEN ON ELECTION NIGHT!!!!
That's right your favorite bakery will be open and have both TV's on to catch the Super Bowl of Political Pulverizing
that has been nearly 4 years in the making. It's going to be "Just Desserts; You Decide 2008"an
extravaganza of desserts and good times for all of us political junkies who will stay awake until the last vote is counted
(or manufactured, as the case may be.) Get your orders in now of what you'd like us to bake up and have ready for
you. Want a slice of our famous Pecan Pie to go along with jeering at political rivals on the TV? How about extra cream on
your banana bread to hurl at that obnoxious political pundit we all love to hate? Get fired up and get yourself to the only
place brave enough to mix actual confections with politics!
Vote on our "Red Cupcakes vs. Blue Cupcakes
- Just Desserts 2008" poll. Will it be the Obama "Extra Frothy Hold-The-Substance Cream Puff" Pie,
or the McCain Maverick "RINO Chip on the Shoulder" Pie? Order up some Biden "Foot-in-Mouth" Spicy Shoe
Leather Cookies or some Palin "Kick Butt-With Moose-on-the-Side Loaf Bread."
You Decide Forsyth County...we'll
see you November 4th!!! Make reservations today!
